Yes.The Mower County Fairgrounds offer secure buildings with concrete floors and pest control for winter storage.  Storage is typically available from mid–October to mid-April. Contact the grounds keeper at 507-433-3376 to make arrangements.

Yes! The buildings, grandstand and grounds are available much of the “off season” and are often rented out for livestock shows, auctions, flea markets, horse shows, concerts, and many other types of events. Contact the office for more information.

Gold Star Amusements operates the carnival and they offer The Passport To Mower Fun!  With it, you can ride unlimited rides all week long.  It is available at a discounted rate on this website or at the fair office or at Hy-Vee customer service. You can buy the Passport To Mower Fun at the carnival during the fair, but it will not be discounted.  Gold Star will also offer wristband specials throughout the week. Click on the Carnival tab to learn more about the carnival hours and specials.

No. Animals on the fairgrounds for shows and exhibits require appropriate health papers. Pets are not allowed for animal health and liability

Like all fairs, the Mower County Free Fair has different hours for the various areas. The Plager and exhibit building hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Most food vendors are open at noon,  some are open for breakfast.

The carnival typically opens at 3:00 p.m. but check the carnival tab for more details.

The Beer Garden is open by noon and is open until 1:00 a.m. except Sunday when it closes at 6:00 p.m. These are general guidelines for hours. 

How do I enter a contest at the fair?2022-04-28T15:10:58+00:00

You must pre-enter the Talent Contest and you will find the printable form on the Forms tab or you may obtain one at the fair office. For other contests, you can just show up unless otherwise stated in the Premium Guide! If you have any questions though, contact the contest superintendent or the fair office.

Click on the Fair Info tab and locate the Premium Guide. Within the Premium Guide you will be able to determine the department and rules for the project you wish to enter. At the beginning of the Premium Guide you will find the entry forms. Print the form, complete it, and deliver or mail it to the fair office.

There is a fee for parking on the grounds. You can pay daily or purchase a weekly parking pass. Overnight parking is not allowed unless arranged through the fair office.
