Endowment Fund

To provide an opportunity to upgrade the quality of life for residents of Mower County and others. This is accomplished through activities and events that encourage the participation and education of everyone - with special emphasis on youth. Our mission is to increase the understanding and appreciation of our traditions, values, and culture and to prepare for future generations.

An endowment gift is a gift to an established fund that is invested. When you make an endowment gift, you create a steady stream of annual income to support our good work. Your gift will be maintained in perpetuity and make a lasting, meaningful difference. There are several ways in which you can make an endowment gift either today or as part of your estate plan.


CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY: When you transfer your cash or appreciated porperty (stock, CDs or real estate) to our endowment, we will agree to pay you fixed payments for life at a rate based on your age. You will received a tax saving charitable deduction and a portion of your payments may be tax free.

CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST: When you transfer your cash or appreciated property to a charitable remainder trust, the trust will pay you income for your life or a number of years. You will receive a tax saving charitable deduction for your gift of the remainder to our endowment.

A gift to our endowment made through your will or trust, may provide your estate with valuable tax savings. Your endowment bequest can be a gift of a specific asset, percentage of your estate or the residue (what's left after specific bequests are made to your family). Your endowment gift will create a permanent legacy of lasting support for work!

• You support the mission of the Mower County Agricultural Society and want to preserve the Mower County Fair over the long-term.
• You wish to make a gift o land or stock.
• You wish to designate a part of your estate to the Mower County Agricultural Society.
• You want your fit to generate funds over and over for many years, rather than have a single impact.
• Established in 2014.
• Held and managed by the Austin Area Foundations; separate from the financial accounts of the Mower County Agricultural Society/Mower County Fair.
• Restricted to the use of only the proceeds earned.
• None of the principal amount will ever be spent.
• Offers a consistent stream of interest income to the Mower County Agricultural Society.
• Interest generated by the fund will be spent in support of the mission of the Mower County Agricultural Society.
