About the Program
The Pride Of Mower Program, initiated by Ken Trom, a dedicated member of the Mower County Fair Board who passed away in 2023, goal was to recognize outstanding achievements by residents of Mower County in various fields of endeavor. This prestigious awards program celebrates excellence, dedication, and the spirit of service that enriches our community.
Award Categories
	- Fairperson of the Year: This award      recognizes individuals who have provided exceptional service to the annual      county fair, going above and beyond to ensure fairgoers have an      entertaining, educational, and memorable experience at Mower County’s      annual gathering.
- Livestock Hall of Fame: Recipients of      this award are honored for their superior service to the livestock      industry of Mower County. Established in 1984, the Livestock Hall of Fame      celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to this      vital aspect of our agricultural heritage.
- Farm Family of the Year: Awarded by the Mower County Extension Committee, this award recognizes families for their significant contributions to agriculture and their communities, as well as their unwavering dedication to enhancing and supporting agriculture in Mower County.
- Century and Sesquicentennial Farm Award: Recipients of      this award are recognized for the stability and determination they provide      to our communities. The tracts of land must have been in the family for at      least 100-150 years and must be 50 acres or more in size, symbolizing a      longstanding commitment to Mower County.
- Outstanding Senior Volunteer: This award      honors senior volunteers (age 65 or more) who have demonstrated superior      commitment to volunteer work in Mower County. Recipients are selected      based on the quantity and quality of their volunteer efforts, their      involvement in organizations, and the positive impact they have made on      the lives of others.
- Outstanding Mower County Community Volunteer: Recognizing      superior volunteer work within Mower County, this award celebrates      individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities.      Recipients are chosen based on the quantity and quality of their volunteer      efforts and their impact on the lives of others.
- Outstanding Service Organization: This award      acknowledges organizations based in Mower County that provide valuable      resources and services to our communities. Winners demonstrate creativity,      innovation, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Mower      County residents through their projects and initiatives.
- Wildlife Conservation Farmer/Landowner: Chosen by the      Mower County Soil & Water Conservation Department, this award honors      farmers and landowners who have demonstrated outstanding conservation      efforts to protect land and wildlife within Mower County.
- Outstanding Conservationist of the Year: Recognizing      individuals or organizations that demonstrate exceptional land      stewardship, this award celebrates dedication to the preservation of Mower      County's natural environment through education, project implementation,      and commitment to conservation efforts. This award is also chosen by the Mower County Soil & Water Conservation Department.
Nominate Someone
Do you know someone deserving of recognition for their outstanding contributions to Mower County? Nominate them for the Pride Of Mower Program! Nominations can be submitted online or through mail, and we welcome your help in celebrating the achievements of our community members. The Mower County Fairgrounds can take nominations for Livestock Hall of Fame, Outstanding Senior Volunteer, Outstanding Mower County Community Volunteer, and Outstanding Service Organization. Please see the attached nomination forms for these 4 positions. Livestock Hall of Fame nominations need to be in to the fair office by May 1st and the other three can be turned in by June 1st!
