Check out the fairgrounds.
The Mower County Fair has the extra space you need.

Winter storage is available from mid October to mid April. Store your boat, RV, camper, car, truck, or trailer on a concrete floor in a secure building with pest control. All winter storage is a first come first serve basis. We do not take reservations. For more information please call the Grounds Keeper at the office 507-433-3376 or his cell phone 507-589-5971

Tips for winter Boat storage

  1. Prepare your boat - Fill and flush your boat's systems with antifreeze.
  2. Remove items - Please remove any items you may need out of the boat as once it is in storage you may not be able to get access to it until spring.
  3. Cover your boat - Protect your boat with a tarp or boat cover if you have one.
  4. Remove battery - Consider removing batteries to extend battery life.
  5. Change the engine oil and add stabilizer - This will help prevent condensation in your fuel lines. The stabilizer will help the fuel from breaking down.
  6. Motor Storage - Keep the motor tilted down. This allows any water to drain out of the motor's cooling system.
Tips for winter RV storage

  1. Prepare the exterior - If you don't have an RV cover consider washing and adding wax to the outside of your RV. This will help protect it for the winter months.
  2. Disconnect the batteries - By removing the batteries and charging them occasionally you can keep them from losing their charge.
  3. Add gasoline and stabilizer - This will help prevent condensation in your fuel lines. The stabilizer will help the fuel from breaking down.
  4. Change the engine oil - Replace the engine oil prior to storage to prevent water and acids that may be in the oil from causing damage to the engine if left in storage for a long period of time.
  5. Protect your RV plumbing system - Make sure to get all of the water out of your tanks and fill them with antifreeze. Most RV dealers or repair service can do this for you.
  6. Mouse Proofing - We do have pest control but as an extra precaution here are a few tips-make sure to clean all food out of the RV before storage. Block off any openings that may give them a chance to get in, and finally you can try spraying or placing scents around your RV. Some of these could include: Mint, Cayenne pepper, mothballs, Peppermint, Cinnamon, Vinegar, or Dryer sheets.
